Lighting Wave Effects Pedals

LIGHTNING WAVE

Modulation Effects Designed, Assembled and Tested in New Zealand.

Lightning Wave effects provide a new interface for creating modulation waves in effects pedals.

Traditionally a combination of dial settings would be tweaked to get a short and regular waveform.

The Lightning Wave interface enables users to create their own wave shapes by drawing it with the fader. Once recorded the LFO shape will stay stored as a preset.

Normally it is standard to have something like an expression pedal jack with a fixed function; something that always stays the same.
While designing the Lightning Wave assembly it decided that 3x 1/4'' (6.35mm) top-mounted jacks and DC-input were a must-have feature and it was too difficult to decide on one option for the jack configuration.

To work around this limitation we decided to let the user decide by providing internal switching to set the signal routing options.

To maximise these options the tip and ring connections are available for one or more of the jacks. This made it possible to break-out signals using an insert cable, such as CV-output + trigger input simultaneously with stereo audio options from 3 jacks.

TLDR: These pedals make it possible to draw squiggly LFO shapes for guitar effects and plug into analog synthesizers and other stuff at the same time.

GHOST

If you're looking for a tremolo that has all the standard options, but want it to also look like a normal tremolo pedal this is possibly not it. There is a little bit of prep time required to get your head around how this tremolo is controlled, but we're really proud of how we've managed to maximise the potential of a design where interface isn't impossible to use during a live performance.

While experimenting on your own it's possible to explore the spontaneity of the waves you draw by combining them different modes and I/O jack preferences.

If your favourite modulation effect has CV or 0-5V expression control, you can use a Lightning Wave pedal as a controller to cover new ground with that effect for example, keeping it in time with the trigger signal of another device like a synthesizer or drum machine.

DOOM

The Doom was created as an alter ego of the Ghost pedal. It allows you to automate or manually control the crossfade between two input signals, rather than the stereo output of a mono signal.

The output wave can be a blend of anything from two fuzz pedals to multiple pedal chains or even separate instruments being played simultaneously.

ASTRO

This was an experimental MOSFET phaser version or the Ghost that exists in versions ranging from 4 to 12 stages. No future plans for production.
